We held the last of our ‘Winter Talks 26’ last Thursday 5th March at The Fishpond.

What an inspiring talk from Steve Charles who is a trustee of the BMC’s Access and Conservation Trust covering moorland and upland degradation and works that are being carried out in the Peaks, Snowdonia and the Lakes to create footpaths, protect the moors from the increased fire risk and restore the massive damage to our moors.

We then heard from our own Pete Bush about the work he has been involved in over many years to restore health to the peat moors in our backyard and re-establish the vibrant ecology the moors were once famous for.   Steve and Pete are two unsung heroes – thankyou for your inspiration and energy!

Donations on the night, plus a contribution from the Club, have gone to the  BMC’s  Access and Conservation Trust.
